Deeming the transient things as solid gold,
I wasted so many days.
I lost my concentration, became deaf and blind,
my body was filled with diseases,
and my five senses became confused.
Faeces and urine were involuntarily discharged on my bed.
I was dying.
For me, the right path towards salvation
is the expansive bright light, beyond description for the Scriptures,
emanating from Your Lotus-Feet, which You must kindly grant me.
The demons (asuras), who were murderers, were destroyed;
the big ocean dried up as a little pond; and
the old mango tree (in which disguise was SUran)
was hit and split into two;
when You threw the burning Spear with a firm grip.
You happily reside on the shore of ThiruchchendhUr, Oh KumarA,
Lord SivA, with everlasting pure form,
was taught by You the meaning of OM, which is beyond everything.
But You are so easy to reach for Your devotees, Oh Great One!
