The fertile Earth, Water, flickering Fire, breezy Wind and the famous wide Sky (the five Elements, in all);
the three characteristics (sathvam, rAjasam and thAmasam) and the three desires (for the land, woman and gold)
have all been inextricably combined (to form this body).
The tattered skin (full of nine portals*) is wrapped around this body!
This body is afflicted with diseases created by Love God (manmathan).
This sinful body is something not to be enamoured of and
I do not wish to be born again and again in this world.
The Grace that can never be secured by the vast intellect of people who fail to worship You
and that Grace which is beyond their reach is the One You should shower on me.
For those who worship You without fail or interruption,
You remove all their bondages due to their karma.
You destroyed the arrogance and the sovereign rule of SUran, the demon.
You are the true scholar of Saivism and, holding Your unique spear, You have chosen ThiruththaNigai as Your abode!
VaLLi, the damsel having a voice so sweet as sugar and milk, was guarding the millet field,
and You went to embrace her!
Oh Supreme One, Oh Eternal One, Oh the one beyond all bonds, and Oh Mystical One!
Oh universal Father, KumarA, Oh, Great One!
